PNC ParkToday the sun is shining, I watched robins hopping around outside, my phone even told me today is a great day for a run; spring has sprung. Though March 20 was the official first day of spring, for many people spring doesn’t officially begun until the beginning of the baseball season. Last Friday, April 7, was the Pittsburgh Pirates home opener. Though the weather made it feel more like a Steelers home game (I was the girl in about 5 layers, wrapped in a blanket), this game ushers in a new season, and new opportunities, especially for the Pittsburgh Pirates Charities.

It’s Groundhog Day…Punxsutawney Phil Sees Lots of Spring Volunteer Opportunities!

Groundhog DayThis year is already flying by. I can’t believe we’ve already made it to February! Even though we’ve had a pretty mild winter (so far), I am so ready for spring. We in Pennsylvania have this quirky tradition of consulting a furry oracle of sorts as to when spring will actually begin. Of course I’m talking about Groundhog Day and our friend Punxsutawney Phil (who actually is a Philomina, I think)! By now we know that our “weather-animal” has seen his shadow and we can look forward to six more weeks of winter, but let’s all Think Spring anyway! Here are several volunteer opportunities and events that will help get you out of your winter funk and active in the community:
